Aiming to help doctors work more effectively with their patients was what fueled Dr. Saad Saad’s desire to create his two inventions.


The traditional way of knowing where to put a catheter inside of someone’s body requires use of X-ray technology. This technology is not harmful in a minimal amount. But repeated X-ray radiation puts a patient at risk for illnesses. The surgeon created his first invention to help locate a catheter inside the body without having a machine to scan the body first. His invention saves patients from the harm of excessive radiation and possible illnesses.


Dr. Saad Saad’s second invention relates to endoscopes. Endoscopes are used to look inside a patient’s body during surgery. Although endoscopes help to look inside the body, the liquids formed from the body can make it very hard to see what is inside the body. The surgeon created his second invention to solve this problem. This device has become hugely successful being used by doctors everywhere.
