Jed McCaleb is the co-founder on stellar, and he believes in developing and improving the human condition. Jed McCaleb created eDonkey, and Mt. Gox which the first bitcoin exchange. One of the largest file-share networks which was eDonkey, Jed McCaleb was born in 1975, in Arkansas, and attended to the University of California, Berkeley, and later on dropped out and moved to New York City.
The year 2010 was the first year that Jed McCaleb has been introduced to Bitcoin, through in an article in Slashdot which was the link for Bitcoin and the website forum Bitcointalk. Jed McCaleb actually thought the money wasn’t possible at all, but was really hooked in Bitcoins because he thought it would be nice to have money that wasn’t centrally controlled.
Stellar was build as a nonprofit company and be open to the people. That lets people trust in the organization and let them know that the business model or governance.
What comes next for McCaleb ? McCaleb is focusing on stellar to grow and create a partnership with IBM and other large financial institutions. McCaleb also mentioned that his team and him are working with a new company that is aiming to be a global payments system, McCaleb did not mention the name of the company.
Technology is now creating a smoother and streamlined workflow for money sent. McCaleb mentions a European company that sends money internationally through its kiosk. People don’t realize that all the payments are being transacted through the Stellar blockchain in the background, which makes the money arrive quickly, and much more cheaper than ever. This technology of remittances has high potential to applied to other financial payments in the future.
Jed McCaleb has been unnoticed for many years despite all his accomplishments, is now becoming a well known name in the cryptocurrency world. McCaleb sees 2018 as a huge potential to grow the project.
